Like many other bloggers I find it hard to fully shut down and have a day off. I work in the week at an IT company doing the purchasing and accounts work which I love, but managing that along side blog work is hard. My lunchtimes and evenings are spent researching and planning, sometimes I feel I never stop. I feel very lucky that I work for a company that is understandable when I need to take an afternoon off for an eyelash infill appointment!

This week my other half (Adam) and I took a day off and went for a picnic at the beach with Bertie. It was perfect. Beautiful views and no phone signal meant we were able to focus on the moment rather than the long list of jobs we had waiting for us at home.

Having a day where you can switch off is so important. I suffer with anxiety and stress induced vertigo so I have to pay close attention to my mental health. If I don’t I will be unable to leave my bed for 2 weeks.

As someone who blogs (I don’t like referring to myself as a blogger) I find there is a fine line between work and fun. I enjoy everything about blogging so is it really work? I do earn money from blogging but I see that as more as a great bonus, as it’s not the reason I do it. On this day off Adam kindly took some photos of me in my new PLT dress. I’m trying to build up my confidence as I have so many exciting opportunities coming up I don’t want my anxiety holding me back.

Currently waiting for my new weave to be fitted!

Bertie has done me the world of good. I am forced to talk to strangers who can’t help but go all gooey around him. Plus you can’t really be sad cuddling a cute puppy can you?

The long winded message of this post is that it’s important to have some me time every now and then. It’s good for the soul. The time off today will give you a better tomorrow.
