I try to live my life with no regrets. No matter what may have happened in the past it got me to where I am now. I love my life so I am grateful for every ‘good’ and ‘bad’ thing that’s ever happened to me. I use the apostrophes because what I may deem as good you may deem as bad. It’s subjective and therefore shouldn’t be a way to measure your life or your day. Bad things can happen to you but that doesn’t mean it was a bad day. In everyday there is a positive, even if it is learning not to trust someone or not to wear those heels which you were sure were going to be comfy. You choose how you feel and you choose what to do with the challenges life throws you.

On 13th December 2014 me and my two favourite girls were planning on going to winter wonderland. Christmas is my favourite time of year and I love this place so I was super excited to go. For some unknown reason we didn’t go, maybe we forgot to plan the ins and outs or we didn’t have the money. For the life of me I can’t remember, but what I can remember is what we did instead.

I was renting a flat in the middle of the city centre at the time so we decided that we would go ‘out out’. I wasn’t at the best part in my life at this point, I wasn’t eating and was generally sad (total hypocrite considering what I just said) nonetheless we went out and had fun as we always do.

On this night a bearded tall dark and handsome man approached me and told me I had a big phone. – I had the iPhone 6 Plus at the time so in his defence he wasn’t wrong. We hardly spoke to be fair, we exchanged numbers and after a bit of Internet stalking on both sides we decided to meet for a drink on the following Tuesday. I was so nervous but I met the mystery man and had an amazing time, drinks turned into midnight ice cream at sprinkles. From that day forward we haven’t spent more than a couple of days apart. We are proud parents to our puppy Bertie and in the last year moved into a bigger house with a bigger garden that we have made our own.

The point of this is not to brag about how lucky I am, but in fact what initially seemed like a disappointing weekend turned out to be the biggest and best turning point in my life. You don’t know what’s coming round the corner. Appreciate the little things, admire the now. Becaue one day it will just be a distant memory of who you once were.

I hope this hasn’t been too cringey, I just wanted to do a post that can inspire some people to see the best in a bad situation. I want to make the world seem happy, in a time where terror is everywhere.

Much love xx
