I have had a manic bank holiday so far. With cleaning the house, making the garden tidy and spending time with loved ones I’ve barely had 2 seconds for myself. If you read my post on The Importance of taking a day off you’ll know I think it’s very important to be selfish every now and then, and take some time to yourself. In the long run it will improve your life in more ways that you may think. It’s easy to get in the routine of life.  Sometimes we need to take a step back from life and have a little reality check. This allows us to remember what our goals are and why we do what we do.

My ‘me’ time will almost always consist of a bath. Even if while I’m in there I’m editing or researching. It’s nice to be in a silent room for a while as I find this helps me relax the best. Plus I have a couple of issues with my back and legs. I will write up about this at some point because it does affect my blogging. Taking outfit shots or baking a new recipe  can leave me in a lot of pain. I find baths help with this (although they exhaust me).

Anyway, I’m going to show you some of my must have essentials for your me time.

I was sent this box of Haribo Frenzy Carnival edition, and the box played cute carnival music! The sweets are amazing, I’m not a massive fan of Haribo as they hurt my teeth but the fizzy ones are so gooood! I have been to the shop and bought so many of these. We ate through all of these while watching the football.

Me time is the  perfect time to treat yourself to something you wouldn’t normally have. These meringues from Flower and White are perfect. If you’re like me and you love photogenic tasty food these are for you.

The white chocolate and raspberry ones are my favourite, but the fruit rainbow ones are perfect for a colourful eaton mess.

Something else I’ve been loving are these pretty slippers from Pretty you London. Unfortunately Bertie loves these as much as I do so I have to fight him off every time I’m walking around near him as he thinks they’re the best new toy ever! I love these not only because they are pretty but because they are easy to slip on and off and are perfect for running downstairs to grab another cup of coffee.

I am a tad behind on this, but I have recently signed up to Hayu which I am loving. Adam (my other half) isn’t the biggest fan of KUWTK so this is something I like to watch on my own. I like to put this on when I’m in the bath or having a relaxing evening in.

Another love of mine is reading. I cannot explain how much the book #GIRLBOSS changed my outlook on things. It’s so motivating and empowering. I’m frantically trying to get through Me before you but haven’t had time recently which upsets me. I’ve read Gone Girl and the Girl On The Train, if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Pampering and chilling out come hand in hand in my book. These are a couple of things I’ve been sent to review recently.

This scrub from Willow Body is unlike any other coffee scrub I’ve used, one for its beautiful minimalistic packaging, but also because the flavour is insane – coffee and peppermint. I would never have put these two together but it totally works.

After an intense coffee scrub bath, I’ll use a Timeless truth Mask followed by a face oil by Miss Organics I have very oily skin, but it’s slowly getting better by using these new treatments.

I love these masks, I remember seeing Shay Mitchell wearing one and thinking YES I NEED THAT. Much to my disappointment I didn’t take this face mask off and have a new beautiful Shay inspired face, I did however feel refreshed and fabulous.

Nothing beats a comfy bed – except a pretty one.

This cushion is from Coconut lane you can get 20% off with discount code amymarie20 I’m going to be putting an order in soon so I’m going to do a haul post.

I hope this post inspires you to be selfish and take some time for yourself this weekend. It looks like it might be raining a fair bit so no reason to leave the comfort of your home.

You can find all of my social media channels on my homepage.
