Say Yes More

If an opportunity arises and you’re unsure whether you should go or not, you’ve got a thousand excuses ready to shut the opportunity down, stop. I’ve met some amazing people and had some of the most fun I’ve had in places I initially wanted to turn down. Saying yes opens opportunity and a thousand different outcomes, saying no only gives one.

Don’t Have Regrets

This may be greeted by it’s too late or I can’t change the past and while this is true, the way you view these events can change. Think of an example of a situation or a reaction you’ve made in the past. Now look at it and think I made the best decision I could given the situation  I was in, if it wasn’t for said reaction I would not be where I am now. I moved in with someone who turned out to be the wrong person, I could regret this, but I don’t because I have learnt don’t move in with people after 1 month of being together. Everyday is a school day. Mistakes lead to growth and growth is good.

Look for Positives in EVERYTHING

This is my favourite thing in the world, its so refreshing. My dog was taken from me, given away without my knowing and I while I miss him everyday, I know that he is now happy, and for a short while I got to be the dog mum I always wanted to be. I was sexually assaulted and lost my job but if that didn’t happen I wouldn’t have the amazing job I have now. Also I believe that the assault and losing my job made me so god damn strong that I know I can do anything. Everything happens for a reason, welcome the bad because the best is yet to come.

Welcome Negative People

If someone takes time out of their busy life to criticise me, I welcome it. I know I don’t have time to sit and think and have opinions about people so thank you for letting me be part of your life. If someone has an opinion about you that’s negative, that usually means you’re not conforming to the norm and that is always a good thing. If someone has something to say, it means in some weird way they care or are jealous, either way thank you negative people.

Affirmations

Defined by Google as the action or process of affirming something. In basic terms no one will believe you if you don’t believe yourself. Tell yourself you’re the best, it’s not big headed to be proud of who you are, there is only one you, embrace it and love it. Find happiness in small places, remind yourself you are happy, you are doing the best you can given the circumstances. Write lists of things you like about yourself or things you are proud you’ve accomplished, as humans we don’t give ourselves enough credit, take a step back and remind yourself of how great you are.

  1. Love this! I think the point about negative people is a really nice spin. Usually, we’re told to just ignore them. But I think embracing the fact that they seem to care so much about you. Reminds me of that phrase – ‘Love me or hate me either way I’m on your mind’

    BOOM.
